Adam Wyatt
A guitarist since the age of 12, Adam
Wyatt's prodigious playing has earned him an eager
fan base of blues and rock lovers all over the Mid-West.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, it didnšt
take Wyatt long to find his way into the heart of
the blues scene.
'Looking back I was very fortunate
to be born in such a great city for live music,'
says Wyatt, 'when I wanted to learn something, I
didn't have far to go.'
Word of a young man who
could make a guitar scream like Hendrix and cry
like B.B. soon spread, as The Adam Wyatt Group was
soon asked to open shows for such notables as Chris
Duarte (My Way Down),Corey Stevens (Been gone to
Long), Rocky Athas (of Black Oak Arkansas and Buddy
Miles Band) and The Amazing Rhythm Aces. Of course,
Adam was more than happy to deliver. With long time
drummer Kyla Koch and bassist Dave Trabue in tow,
26 year old Wyatt's virtuosic, yet soulful guitar
playing led the trio through blistering 2 hour sets
leaving audiences floored.
Adam also played all
guitar, bass, dobro, lap steel, vocals, as well
as producing and engineering his first album "5
Miles To Rolling Fork", released in early 2006.
The album has been getting rave reviews, as has
the bands performances.
"I'm really excited about
this year, I've got the best line up of muscisians
I've ever had with Dave and Kyla, there is nothing
better than playing music with your best friends."
Be sure to catch the Adam Wyatt Group in action.
"Jeff,
I
wanted to say how much my wife and I enjoyed
the Adam Wyatt show. We went to the Tommy Castro
show and the Ronnie Baker Brooks show last
month and both were great, but
Adam played with such power and intensity it
was breathtaking. Probably the best
band I've ever seen in a bar. My wife
doesn't even really care about guitar playing,
and
she was standing on her chair watching
this guy. The sound of it was just
unreal.
Best
Wishes,
Eddie
Raines"
"J
Todd Music,
I caught Adam Wyatt in Waukee last night,
Wow!
I went to see Corey Stevens and then
headed over to see Adam Wyatt, and I wished
I wouldn't have wasted time at the Corey
Stevens show. I've not seen anyone
play the guitar like that for years.
Manic
Depression, Post Toastee, White Room. I
go to a lot of shows in the area, seldom
does a act like that come through here, and
sure as hell not at Mickey's.
I've heard about Adam Wyatt,
but
I honestly wasn't expecting that. He's
27....that makes me sick!!! I'm 46 and
I've played guitar for 20 years, I couldn't
figure out what he was doing if my life
depended on it.
It was wild, because I had just listened to
Corey Stevens for 2 hours and then to
hear Adam right after that was really
amazing.
Please put me on your mailing list and let
me know when he's coming back to Iowa.
Thanks,
Bob Mildred
