- Cherry Bomb -
[Bio]

Natalie

Natalie has been singing for as long as she can remember! Greatly influenced by Madonna, Cher and Faith Hill, this siren will mesmerize you with her vocal acrobatics. Putting her heart and soul into the shows, fans often wonder if Christina Aguilera is in the house!

Alex

Alex is the newest member of Cherry Bomb. He began his musical career playing local clubs in Kansas City in the early 1980's. Since 1984, he has toured extensively and has years of experience in live musical performance; playing casinos in Las Vegas, concert performances at state and county fairs with country music recording artists from Nashville, theatre shows in Branson Missouri, and entertaining on cruise ships. He has performed in every state in the continental United States and has performed in other countries such as Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. From 1996 until 2005, Alex played primarily hotels and casinos in Mississippi.

Alex's drumming style can best be described as "solid and groovin" which has empowered him to work as a full time musician since graduating from high school.

Musical styles he enjoys are popular songs from the past 50 years, consisting of 50's rock n roll, motown, 70's and 80's dance R&B, classic rock from the 60's-80's, glam rock, country-rock, modern rock and some hip hop.

Amy

Amy has been heavily influenced by gospel music and studied classical voice in her undergraduate work. She graduated from Missouri Western State College in 1992 with a B.S. in Music Education with a Vocal Performance emphasis, followed by a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Lesley University in December 2002. She has sung everything from gospel to the blues, opera and good ole' rock and roll. Because of her eclectic style and versatility, she is a frequent soloist and performer in the Kansas City/St. Joseph area. She was a Mirror Ball with Disco Dick and the Mirror Balls and has been spotted in several Kansas City clubs belting out the retro tunes of the 80's as a guest singer with her good friends Backtraks, (The 80's are close to her heart as this was HER music!)

She was influenced most by Madonna, Cyndi Lauper Berlin and Prince. Her favorite concert was Sheryl Crow's "C'mon, C'mon" tour. Her favorite artists today are Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Sara McLaughlin, and Sarah Brightman.

Gene

Gene picked up the sax at age 14, but when he picked up the bass a year later, it stuck with him. He has been the bass player and lead vocalist in classic rock bands as well as modern rock, alternative, metal and 80's bands including Ritual, The Critics, The Neurotics, Psyko Puppits, Bad Karma, Sun King, The Johnson 5 and Cherry Bomb. In fact, he has averaged 180 gigs a year for the last 4 years as he played every major fraternity, sorority, high school and club event in the Memphis and Southeast United States area.

After studying sax, voice, bass, guitar and audio engineering/production/design in college, he went on to own and operate a sound company/rehearsal complex, a booking agency, as well as producing several major events.

He was influenced most by John Entwistile, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheehan, Paul McCartney, Jack Bruce, Noel Redding and Sting. He currently uses Ampeg bass amps and cabinets, Musicman basses, EMG pickups, Zoom effects, Naddy wireless and a DBX compressor.

Matt

Matt is a dedicated guitarist with intensive training from MusicTech College of Music and Recording Arts in St. Paul, MN, where he graduated in April 2003 with an A.A.S degree in music performance with a guitar emphasis. He is an experienced studio musician with co-production/writing skills.

He has played and sang in several bands in the KC area as well as performed solo/duet for more formal occasions, including the guitar mass at Our Lady Of Lourdes Church.

He is a versatile player with experience in a variety of music styles such as blues, swing, classic rock, pop, jazz, funk, Christian, folk and classical guitar and provides private instruction in guitar and music theory.

He was influenced most by the classic rock sounds of The Rolling Stones, The Doors, The Who and Led Zeppelin.

Chrissy

Chrissy started playing the piano in the 3rd grade and picked up the flute in the 5th grade. She started playing professionally at 15. In college, she played alto sax in the jazz band and learned a little guitar, graduating with a BSE in Music with certification in Instrumental and Vocal. She also played for many, many musicals, played keyboards for a country artist and an Elvis impersonator. She has her Masters Degree in Technology Education.

More recently, Chrissy filled in on backup vocals for “Under the Influence”, appeared onstage with Steve Walsh of “Kansas” and appeared on 2 Christmas CDs, one featuring Steve Walsh and the other featuring Pat and Debby Boone. She was also the keyboardist/flutist/vocalist for “Backtraks."
